Verschwommene Havel, gesammelter Fluss

Alisa Tretau

‘How has the relationship between rivers and people changed over time? What moments with flowing water have you experienced that have stayed with you? What do rivers teach us about different temporalities and how can we use them to experience time differently? How can we practice resilient empathy that spans time, space and species?’ The collective lecture performance ‘Verschwommene Havel, gesammelter Fluss’ on 15 September 2024 in the Rotunde am Wannseeufer will address these questions. As part of a ‘random fishing’ curation led by Alisa Tretau, artists from a wide range of backgrounds will contribute their poetic, political or meandering associations with the Havel and other rivers. They are pulled out of the water as messages in bottles – literary texts, musical interludes and meditative exercises make the different voices of the river audible. The curator has created this table for the project, which is part of the MA programme ‘Art in Context’ at the UdK Berlin.
